Mission and Vision

Healthy Rural California, Inc. was established in 2019 as a 501(c)3 affiliated with Butte-Glenn Medical Society. With a broad vision of addressing current public health needs in our community and other rural counties in California, we are launching with a focus is to address the opioid epidemic, to improve access to care and mental health, to reduce health disparities. Healthy Rural California aims to support health-related coalitions and education efforts. Healthy Rural California aims to close the gap of quality and equitable health in rural areas.

The 2019-2020 Board of Directors is the first board of Healthy Rural California, Inc. As such, the terms of these positions are for one year, until January 2023 when all positions will be 2 year terms. Elections are held in the fall and positions are held from January through end of year of term. Per our By-laws, 60% of the board must be comprised of Butte-Glenn Medical Society members. The first board meeting was held October 10, 2019.
